Pan-African Collaboration
With the ultimate purpose of driving the agenda for Inclusive participation,
FAWOVC is deeply rooted in the spirit of Pan-Africanism, believing that the transformation of higher education requires a collective, borderless approach. We don’t just work within our own institutions; we actively shape the continental agenda by participating in high-level forums that bring Africa’s academic and political leaders together.
Our members are active drivers of change at major continental gatherings, including RUFORUM Annual General Meetings (AGMs). From Kenya and Ghana to Zimbabwe, Cameroon, Namibia, and Botswana, FAWOVC leverages these platforms to:
- Champion Inclusivity by ensuring that gender-responsive policies are at the forefront of African agricultural and scientific research.
- Strengthen regional ties by building a "critical mass" of female leaders who collaborate across borders to solve common institutional challenges.
- Align with Agenda 2063 by contributing directly to the African Union’s vision of an integrated, prosperous, and peaceful Africa led by its own empowered citizens.
Through these strategic Pan-African alliances, we ensure that the voice of the female academic leader is heard from Cape to Cairo, influencing the future of the entire continent.
