Forum for Women Vice Chancellors in Africa

At FAWoVC, we believe that sustainable development for Africa as enshrined in the African Union Agenda 2063 is only possible when women are at the helm of our Higher Education Institutions. FAWoVC unites a formidable network of over 75+ current and former Vice Chancellors across 34 nations.
Despite making up nearly half of tertiary students, women hold less than 3% of Vice Chancellor positions in Sub-Saharan Africa. FAWoVC is here to change that dynamic. Through executive mentorship, strategic advocacy, and global partnerships, FAWoVC is building a legacy of excellence that ensures every woman in academia has a seat at the leadership table.
FAWoVC is dedicated to breaking the glass ceiling in academia, championing gender equality in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), and nurturing a critical mass of women leaders who will shape the governance and decision-making of our continent.
