Mentorship and Leadership Development
Knowledge transfer is the engine of FAWOVC’s sustainability. We go beyond traditional workshops to facilitate a high-level leadership ecosystem that connects our network of over 120+ Vice Chancellors and Deputy Vice Chancellors with emerging female academics. By providing Executive Guidance, we intentionally bridge the gap between academic theory and the practical, gendered demands of institutional management, ensuring women are equipped to lead at the highest levels.
A Holistic Approach to Training
Our mentorship is delivered through a blend of high-impact physical and digital engagements designed to ensure institutional change is permanent:
- Annual High-Level Mentorship Sessions: Dedicated forums where senior executives provide the "insider" knowledge and psychosocial support necessary to navigate the unique challenges of higher education leadership.
- Professional Capacity Building: Regular workshops and webinars focusing on the pillars of university success, including Gender-Responsive Governance, Strategic Resource Mobilization, and Policy Implementation
The FAWOVC Digital Leadership Hub
FAWOVC is currently in the process of establishing a dedicated digital platform to institutionalize this mission. This hub will scale our impact through:
- Borderless Mentorship: Enabling seamless, real-time coaching between senior leaders and emerging scholars across the continent.
- A Resource Repository: A centralized digital library for governance tools, EROWA research, and international policy frameworks.
- Global Connectivity and Reciprocal Training: A dynamic space for mutual knowledge exchange with Ministries, corporate partners, and the private sector, fostering a shared commitment to good governance and management excellence.
